Hello from Appleton le Moors !

I’m Katie, and I’ve spent the last few years turning Woodward Farm House into a space I’m truly proud to share.  This B&B isn't just a business for me; it’s the result of a long-held dream to create a retreat where guests feel less like 'customers' and more like old friends.

My path here was a bit of an adventure. After years of living in a small London house and traveling constantly for work, I found myself craving the quiet of the countryside. When I found Woodward Farm House, I knew it was 'the one.'  I’ve used my background in textiles and interior design to modernise the house while keeping its character—think big open fireplaces paired with beautiful cosy fabrics and the kind of fluffy towels you actually want to use.

What to expect: A great stay is about more than just a comfortable bed and hot water (though we have plenty of both!). It’s about the small things: my homemade granola, marmalade and jams, fresh local eggs, and an atmosphere where you can actually kick off your shoes and relax.

When I’m not hosting: I’m usually out exploring the heather with my two working cockers, Eadie and Luna. I love capturing the local light with my camera or sketchbook, and I’ll never turn down a quick Friday tipple with local friends at the Moors Inn.

Whether you need a tip for a 'secret' walking trail or just want to chat over a coffee in the garden, I’m here to help. I want you to leave feeling like you’ve found your new favourite escape.
